# Glossary

> Every term you meet on the way from a video story to a sent campaign, in the order you meet them.

Read this once, top to bottom, and it retells the whole journey. On every other page the same
one-line definition appears when you hover a bold term.

### 1 · Make the Video Story

**Video Story** — The editable video you build and finetune. It is a LatentCast data model, not a file. Every personalized video is rendered from one.

**video** — A finished MP4 rendered from a Video Story. You finetune Video Stories; recipients watch videos.

**wizard** — The four-step form that turns your content or script and a short brief into a first Video Story.

**scene** — One section of a Video Story, with its own script and visuals. A story usually has a handful, opening first and closing last.

**narration** — The script a scene is spoken from. Change it and the audio, timings and on-screen text follow.

**background** — What sits behind the presenter in a scene: a photo, a generated image, or a short video clip.

**on-screen event** — A title, highlighted phrase, figure or logo that appears at a chosen moment, timed to the words.

**brand kit** — Your colours, fonts and logo, applied to every story that uses the kit.

**style** — The production style: pacing, how much motion, and how much on-screen text a story gets.

**story language** — The language a Video Story is written and spoken in, chosen when you create it. It is fixed once the script exists.

**register** — For Dutch and French: whether the video addresses the viewer formally (u, vous) or informally (je, tu).

**Tuning Chat** — The chat beside the preview. Tell it what to change and it edits the Video Story for you, with undo.

**approval card** — The chat's confirmation step before anything slow or costly runs. Nothing happens until you approve it.

**checkpoint** — A saved point in a story's history you can return to. Cheaper than caution: save one before a big change.

**sign-off** — Freezes a Video Story, Personalization Canvas or Personalization Profile as a numbered version. Only signed-off things can be used by the next stage.

**render** — Turning a Video Story into a real video file, then publishing it so it can be watched anywhere.

### 2 · Define who receives it

**Personalization Canvas** — Your recipient list as a spreadsheet: one row per recipient, one column per thing that may change in their video.

**dimension** — One thing that may change per recipient, such as their name, their company, or the reason you are reaching out.

**recipient** — One person who gets their own video. One row in the Personalization Canvas.

**presenter** — The colleague who appears on screen for a recipient, usually the sales rep who owns them. Named in the Personalization Canvas.

### 3 · Set personalization rules

**Personalization Profile** — The rule set for one outreach: which signed-off Video Story, which Personalization Canvas, what may change, and how the Viewing Page looks.

**package** — A ready-made set of personalization rules. Pick one, then adjust the individual switches.

**style guidance** — Your brief on how the personalized parts should sound. It governs phrasing, never facts.

**custom image** — A picture you supply for a recipient. It is used as given and never regenerated.

**cast** — The presenters in a Personalization Profile. Each accepts a casting request and gives consent before production can run.

**consent** — A presenter's explicit agreement, given in their own account, to appear in this outreach. Without it, nothing is produced for them.

**preview** — Producing the video for one real recipient from the Personalization Profile, to check the rules before you scale.

### 4 · Produce and send at scale

**Campaign** — The production run for one signed-off Personalization Profile. It is locked to that profile and holds the batches.

**target** — A recipient inside a Campaign.

**batch** — A group of recipients produced together. The unit of work, and the sheet the results land in.

**run** — Starts a batch. It moves through Personalize, Proxy, Render and Assets. Ready means sendable.

**phase** — One of the four stages of a run, each with its own progress bar on the batch card.

**narrative review gate** — An optional pause after the scripts are written, so you can read and edit every recipient's text before anything is rendered.

**presenter master** — One production per presenter that every recipient of theirs derives from, so shared scenes are made once.

**frame anchor** — The moment in the story that GIFs and animations start from.

**Campaign Manifest** — The batch's output sheet: each recipient's video, Viewing Page link, GIFs and outreach copy.

**outreach copy** — The subject line, opener and channel messages written for each recipient. Drafts you can edit.

**Viewing Page** — The personal page a recipient lands on to watch their video. It counts views and takes a rating.

### Presenters, voices and names

**avatar** — A presenter's likeness on screen, built from one photo of them.

**voice clone** — A presenter's voice, made from a short recording, used to speak every script.

**proxy** — A presenter's avatar and voice together: their on-screen presence, set up once and consented to.

**voice collection** — Which voice speaks for you in each language. A story picks from it automatically.

**pronunciation dictionary** — A list of terms and how to say them, applied whenever those words are spoken.

**say-as** — How a term should be pronounced: either a respelling or a phonetic spelling.

<Note>
The last group covers the one-time setup a colleague does before they first appear on screen. If that
is you, start at [You have been cast](/docs/guides/presenters/you-have-been-cast).
